1.32: Of Libraries and Fairies

Previously on "It's a Wonder-full Life": It was a long time between chapters! Kent skipped school and Clark got in trouble for it, which sounds about right for little/big brother. Diana had an actual birthday and Linda was forced to grow up a little, too. She makes for a very emotional teen!

After days and days of birthday excitement, I decided to have the family go on a nice outing. The next time everyone was out of work or school, I sent them to the library! Diana had wanted to read some book or other and I sent her there with the whole family.

Frank wasted no time in scratching up the place like he lived there.

Screenshot-39

Apparently the ambiance of the library was enough to inspire both Linda and Clark to do their homework, though. Score!

Screenshot-40

Kent stayed home for whatever reason, but he did his homework too! Three kids doing their homework at the same time in an ISBI? I should get an award for that.

Ghost-Diana agrees.

Screenshot-42

After finishing his homework, Kent decided to complain about the furniture.

Screenshot-43

Then he demonstrated his werewolf table manners by having ice cream for lunch!

You know, I could get behind the idea of eating ice cream for lunch when I had the house to myself!

But I'd use a spoon, Kent.

Screenshot-45

Back at the library, Clark fights with the suls.

Screenshot-48

But I don't think that he won the argument.

Screenshot-50

Now here's where things got interesting... Diana of the no-wings cast a fairy charm on Clark! She actually exhibited a fairy interaction! Autonomously! (They don't come up a available interactions when I click on her, either.)

It's like she's only a fairly subconsciously or something.

Screenshot-55

Screenshot-56

Clark thought that it was such a good trick that he immediately tried it out on Diana.

Screenshot-58

She was not amused.

Really though, Diana, you're the one who just taught him to do that! What did you expect?

Screenshot-60

Meanwhile, Kent exhibits the Frank cleaning trait while home alone.

It's about now that I realize that I never did replace the counter and stove after Frank tried to burn down the house.

Screenshot-62

As a reward for a clean sink... new stove!

Screenshot-63

No fails this chapter!

1.31 Were-girl emotions

Previously on "It's a Wonder-full Life": Frank tried to burn down the house, but Diana forgave him because she has a thing for werewolves. Linda had a birthday, but decided to stay a child for a little while longer. Then she passed out a couple of times. Because she won't stay in her bed. Ever. Frank and Kent also failed. Clark was nowhere to be found because he likes to go to school and then forget to come home.

Ugh, Kent. Watermelon shorts, muscle shirt, AND you're going to pass out? It's like an idiot trifecta.

Screenshot-102

No, Diana. Just no.

Screenshot-103

Were-Kent actually got on the bus to go to school! Then he got off halfway there. Then he ran the rest of the way. I just don't get were-Kent.

Screenshot-104

Of course, when he got there he decided not to go in after all. What is it with werewolves and actually going to school/work?

Screenshot-105

Clark got in trouble for something, but I can't remember what. Probably for skipping school. I'm pretty sure that he went, though, and Frank should have been scolding someone else. Poor Clark in the corner, though!

Screenshot-106

He went right out and did his homework after that, though. He's such a good kid!

Screenshot-109

Diana became an actual adult. I don't know why I don't have a better picture of it!

Screenshot-112

After a full day of letting Linda walk around as a child, I triggered her to age up with MasterController. I'm not sure if this follows the rules of an ISBI or not, but it needed to be done!

Screenshot-114

So here's teen Linda! She'll become the torch holder on her next birthday. Assuming she ages up.

Screenshot-115

Were-Frank likes to kick over the garbage can.

Screenshot-119

Werewolves are weird.

Screenshot-120

Apparently, Linda was so distraught over me forcing her to become a teen that she couldn't take it! The horror, the horror!

Seriously, she gives "over-emotional" a new meaning. (Is that even one of her traits? I'll have to go back and check.)

Poor Linda.

Two steps forward, one step back.

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY got the supernatural version of the Wonders to upload to the exchange!

Check it out! (Also, under the "media" tab is a quick, little video of Clark dancing, recommended for all you Clark fans!)

In other news, the Hodgins file that we rescued was apparently glitched. They played just fine for a short time, and then started crashing within 10 minutes of loading the household. No matter which save I used. Even with no mods or custom content. So I loaded them into the library and moved them to a new version of Appaloosa Plains. At least they're playable now!

1.30 Teenage werewolf... no, wait...

Previously on It's a Wonder-full Life: Linda passed out, a lot, and we wondered if she would ever stay in bed. Kent had a birthday and became a cute little were-kid with surprisingly good traits! Clark made a friend and then brushed his teeth a lot. When he got home, he passed out. Then he got freaked out by Frank's transformation and passed out again, but that one doesn't count.

Kent decided to go to school! He also picked out a reasonable outfit for his first day and looked suitably serious about the whole thing. Don't be scared, Kent, school's not nearly as bad as Linda has probably been telling you!

Screenshot-65

Frank got hungry so he decided to start some waffles. Then he decided to go to work for once! About halfway to the carpool, he wondered if he was forgetting something so he decided to skip work after all.

As much as I want you to go to work and earn some money, leaving in the middle of cooking is always a bad idea! Go back and finish!

Screenshot-66

But it was too late.

Screenshot-67

Way to go, Frank! (Do you see him fleeing the scene of the crime? Coward.)

Screenshot-69

You'll notice that Linda skipped school again. Though, apparently, Clark and Kent both made it so I guess two out of three ain't bad!

Screenshot-74

Since no one bothered to put out the fire, a fire fighter had to come and rescue the house. She paused first to complain about the furniture. Everyone hates the scratched up furniture!

Screenshot-75

Even as she's fighting the fire, she's complaining about the furniture. Also, it might be handy if she could hose down Linda while she's there... get rid of some of that stink.

Screenshot-77

Screenshot-79

In the midst of fire panic, everyone hates on the furniture!

Screenshot-80

All is apparently forgiven, though, as Frank and Diana sit down for a slightly singed breakfast. I'm not actually sure what they're eating here since it has to be leftovers. Burnt mac and cheese, maybe?

Screenshot-83

Diana takes a moment to tell Frank to lay off of the furniture. Frank likes the view. (I love that you can see the green cloud that is Linda floating by.)

Screenshot-87

After almost going to work and then deciding against it, Frank got demoted. Poor Frank. At least he's not fired yet!

And then, romance. I wonder if she'll get him into the shower this time?

Screenshot-88

Eventually, it's Linda's birthday!

Screenshot-91

Oh, the drama of a were-girl becoming a teen.

Screenshot-93

Really, Frank? Have you seen the little room with the toilet? Even in werewolves are potty trained, right?

Screenshot-96

Linda blew out the candles and gained the "can't stand art" trait. But there were no sparkles and eventually she wandered off to pass out.

Screenshot-98

Kent almost made it to bed, but not quite.

Screenshot-99

Not-teen Linda had a werewolf snack.

Screenshot-100

And then passed out again. Sigh.

Screenshot-101

It's been awhile since I played through this and I can't remember where Clark was during the party! I hope he was having fun!

Also, I'm not replacing the stove until Frank promises to not burn the house down.

Intermission

I spent my potential Sim time today uploading the Wonders!

(They're just on the Exchange because I'm not all techy like Susan.)

I have both Supernatural and Human versions of the kids, aged to young adult. I also put up an all human version of the whole family as it stands now (Clark and Linda are teens, Kent is a child). There should also be the supernatural version of the family, but it's not there and I don't know why. I'll have to try to figure that out another day!

So, go here: DragonWife Studio

Unfortunately, spending my whole morning editing sims and moving them in and out of households and uploading them means that I didn't get any time to actually play! There won't be a Hodgins update until I get more game time, but I do have pictures ready to go for the Wonders so there should be a new ISBI chapter later this week.

1.29 Drama at the birthday

Previously on It's a Wonder-full Life: Lots of people stood around complaining about being exhausted but not actually going to bed. They also continued to complain about the scratched up furniture. Like it's not their own fault. Clark went to school but not actually INto it. Then he had a stalker. Linda did not even attempt to go to school. Diana and Frank were cute with their kids.

Sigh. You see, Linda? This is what happens when you won't stay in your bed! Look! It's right there! You got out of it to pass out!

Screenshot-40

Meanwhile, come on Frank! You are in the room with the toilet!

Screenshot-41

I really am starting to worry about Linda's feelings for her little brother.

Screenshot-42

Later, it's Kent's birthday!

Linda celebrates by passing out again. Not even Grim can believe the fact that she keeps getting out of bed to pass out!

Screenshot-43

Anyway, Kent's turn to grow up. Diana managed to teach him how to walk and talk, but there was no potty training. He received the bookwork trait to go with his insane and genius traits! I think he's starting to sound like a little mad scientist!

Screenshot-45

Awww... he loves his mom!

Screenshot-46

Screenshot-47

Tawana and Linda complaining about the furniture instead of watching the sparkles. Tawana is one of Diana's co-workers. She recently got married and has been homeless ever since. She's also enemies with her husband. That kind of seems like an interesting story there.

Screenshot-52

So here's little Kent. I think he picked a really good outfit for his traits!

Screenshot-53

This sim had a little trouble with the window.

Screenshot-54

This couple (Zack and Suraya, according to my notes) got really friendly during the party. Really, really friendly. I was a little worried that they were going to woohoo right there in the kids' room! But luckily, they got interrupted by the woman who finally managed to pull her head back in through the window.

Screenshot-55

Kent joins the family tradition of complaining about the furniture to anyone who will listen.

He's sitting with Tawana and her enemy/husband Jack. (And stinky Frank, of course.)

I'm not sure if Linda wants to sit on Tawana's lap or if she's trying to steal cake!

Screenshot-56

Aaaannnnd, the Frank cleaning genes kick in! I love you, Frank!

Screenshot-57

Clark missed out on the party because he was visiting his new friend, though I forgot to write down the friend's name. I'm not sure what they did all afternoon, but when I went to check Clark was brushing his teeth! In the sink.

Screenshot-58

Linda got the pass out hat trick!

Screenshot-59

Later, Clark is brushing his teeth. Again.

Is that all you did at your friend's house, Clark? Because you'll be moving out soon and probably should figure out how to handle social situations a little bit better than this.

Screenshot-60

Apparently, Kent dresses up for bedtime stories!

I don't have a lot of faith in him actually going to sleep in a bed, though.

Screenshot-61

Clark came home!

Then he peed on the bathroom floor! (Seriously, what is it with peeing in the room with the toilet?! You can't make it another few steps?)

Then he passed out.

Must have been some night out!

Screenshot-62

Frank was so annoyed by the peeing and sleeping that he wolfed out!

I don't blame you, Frank. I kind of feel the same!

Screenshot-63

And then, even though he's been raised by a wolf and has two were siblings, Clark wandered into his bedroom and fainted away from the shock of seeing his dad transform! This does not get included in the "passing out" count because it's emotional, but really? You get freaked out by it now?! After seeing it happen your whole life?!
